The New Wine Discipleship Year in Canterbury operates from SMB (St Mary Bredin) Church, which is a Charismatic Evangelical Anglican Church in the New Wine network. SMB seeks to make Christ known in the city of Canterbury, the historic home of the Church of England and the place from which England was first evangelised. Canterbury has an ancient Christian heritage but is also a vibrant city with the highest proportion of students to permanent residents of anywhere in Europe.
All teaching is delivered weekly on Thursdays.
Internships are offered at SMB and at a number of other churches in the area, in the following areas of church life: youth work, student ministry, kids work, worship, media.
Course fees of £980, payable at the beginning of the course.
Interns find their own accommodation locally in Canterbury or in the vicinity of their internship church. Some internship churches may offer accommodation in family homes. Students are encouraged to take casual employment to cover their living expenses.
