The New Wine Training Centre in the North Midlands operates out of St George’s Newcastle (STGN) based in Newcastle-under-Lyme next to Stoke-on-Trent. St George’s repurposed itself three years ago, and is now a growing, multicultural, multigenerational evangelical charismatic Anglican church. With Keele University nearby, there is also a strong student contingent in the church. We are excited about the opportunity to be able to work with other local churches in the area in providing this training - plus the Peak District is nearby.
All teaching will be delivered on Monday.
Internships are offered at a number of churches in the area, including St George’s Newcastle. Internships are offered in the following areas of church life: youth and student work, schools work, kids and family work, ministry to the poor, Alpha, worship, media, general service to the church, administration and hospitality. St George’s Newcastle is particularly interested in taking on worship/ schools/college and administrative interns this coming year, and hopes to be able to offer 2 partially or fully funded placements in these areas (details TBC). Please contact us for more details.
The course costs £980. Fees may be covered by the church providing the internship.
Interns find their own accommodation locally in and around Newcastle and Stoke, or in the vicinity of their internship church. Some internship churches may offer accommodation in family homes. Students are encouraged to take casual employment to cover their living expenses. This is one of the most affordable areas of the country to live in.
